“去睡觉”并不是“go to sleep”,赶紧改过来

想睡觉了，随口说了一句， I want to go to sleep, 老外一听这个go to sleep 不对劲啊，你去睡觉可不能直接说go to sleep。

go to sleep这个说法正确的，但是它并不是“去睡觉”的意思，而是指：“入睡,进入梦乡“这个动作,强调动作的结果，尤其指有意想睡着,即闭上了眼睛，关灯关手机准备睡觉。

而我们通常意义上的“去睡觉”是"go to bed",即go to a place where you sleep, 指上床准备睡觉的动作，我们可能还要在睡觉前玩手机、看书等等。

例：

I went to bed at 11 last night and I fell asleep at 1 in the morning after I played games on my mobile phone.

I finish my homework and I will go to sleep soon.我完成了我的家庭作业，我会很快入睡。
